Hello, I’m Vipin Chaudhari — a professional trek leader from Urgam, Joshimath, Uttarakhand, a small valley nestled deep in the Chamoli district of the Garhwal Himalayas. I grew up surrounded by some of the most dramatic mountain terrain in India, and that early connection with the high Himalaya never left me. It became my calling.

With several years of professional experience leading trekking expeditions across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, I have guided groups of all abilities — from beginners taking their first steps on a mountain trail to experienced climbers pushing toward high-altitude summits. Every group is different, and that is what keeps this work endlessly rewarding.

Credentials & Expeditions

I hold a Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) certification, giving me a strong foundation in mountain safety, rope techniques, glacier travel, and rescue protocols. But beyond the certification, my real classroom has been the mountains themselves.

Some of the high-altitude expeditions and peaks I have been part of:

• Consolation Peak — A demanding high-altitude climb in the Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh
• Stok Kangri — One of Ladakh’s most iconic summit treks, standing at 6,153 metres
• Kamet Expedition — One of the highest peaks in India at 7,756 metres, a serious Himalayan expedition

These experiences have sharpened my ability to lead with calm, make sound decisions under pressure, and keep my team safe when conditions change on the mountain.

Where I Guide

My expertise spans two of India’s finest trekking regions:

• Uttarakhand — From the Valley of Flowers and Roopkund to the Kedarkantha ridge and Har Ki Dun, this is my home terrain
• Himachal Pradesh — Spiti Valley, Pin Parvati, Hampta Pass, and the high trails of Kinnaur and Kullu

I have worked with several travel agencies over the years, building experience across a wide range of routes, seasons, and group profiles — from school groups and families to corporate teams and solo adventurers.

My Approach

Safety is always first. After that comes everything else — the acclimatisation plan, the campfire conversations, the right pace for the right group, and the moments of silence on a ridge when words simply are not enough.

I am a local guide in the truest sense. Urgam valley and Joshimath are in my bones, and the knowledge I carry — of trails, weather patterns, local culture, and mountain behaviour — comes from a lifetime of living here, not just visiting.

I guide because I genuinely love it. Every trek is a story, and I want yours to be one worth telling.
